A tasteful, functional artist-in-residence environment was the charge for us to convert a beautiful 1920s carriage house on the grounds of the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast in Osprey.
Much-needed replacements for roof, siding and windows, an ADA-compliant elevator and a no threshold shower were on the agenda. Tantamount to all that was an inspired loft space—kitchen, two bedrooms and open living area— conducive to living and working for visiting artists to creatively articulate the surrounding natural environment.
Walls, flooring and ceiling are covered in cypress—impervious to termites and rot.
